Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.
Proverbs 22:6
This verse reminds us that as parents, caregivers, or adults that interact with children, we have a responsibility to guide them on the right path. We have the opportunity to shape their character, teach them right from wrong, and show them how to love and serve others.
It’s important to remember that children are not just “miniature adults”, they are unique and special in their own way, with their own personalities and talents. We should encourage and nurture their development, helping them to become the best version of themselves.
As we interact with children, let us strive to be positive role models, showing them kindness, patience and love. Let us teach them about God, His love and His word, in a way that is age-appropriate and engaging.
When we guide children on the way they should go, we are investing in their future and in the future of our society. As they grow, they will be equipped to make good choices and to live a life that honors and glorifies God.
Let us pray for guidance and wisdom as we interact with children, and let us trust in God’s plan for their lives.
