The gift of the Spirit known as the “word of knowledge” is a powerful manifestation of God’s wisdom and understanding. It is a gift to receive knowledge or insight into a situation or person that could not be known through natural means. This gift is not limited to knowledge of the past or present, but can also reveal future events.

The Apostle Paul refers to the gift of the word of knowledge in 1 Corinthians 12:8, “For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit.” This gift is given by God to believers in order to edify and build up the church.

An example of the gift of the word of knowledge is found in John 4:16-19, where Jesus meets a Samaritan woman at a well. Through the gift of the word of knowledge, Jesus knew that the woman had been married five times and was currently living with a man who was not her husband. This revelation led to the woman’s repentance and ultimately her salvation.

We should seek the gift of the word of knowledge and use it to build up and edify the body of Christ. We should also be open to receiving this gift from others and discerning its accuracy through the guidance of the Holy Ghost.

The gift of the word of knowledge is a powerful manifestation of the Holy Ghost that allows believers to receive supernatural knowledge and insight. It is given for the edification of the church and can lead to repentance and salvation. Let us seek this gift and use it to glorify God and edify one another.
