In our journey of faith, we are called to keep our hearts and minds attuned to the signs of the end times and the imminent return of our Lord Jesus Christ. Just as a watchman stands alert, we too must be vigilant and discerning in these last days. The Scriptures remind us in Matthew 24:44, “Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not, the Son of man cometh.” The signs are evident, and the fulfillment of prophecies draws near. Let us take heed and be watchful, eagerly anticipating the blessed hope of His glorious return.
Reflecting on the hope and anticipation of Christ’s coming fills our hearts with joy and assurance. In John 14:1-3, Jesus comforts His disciples, saying, “Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.” This promise is for us as well, and it is a source of great comfort and hope. Let us hold fast to this truth, knowing that the day of His return is nearer with each passing moment.
As we wait in expectation, let us not be complacent but live each day with readiness for His coming. Let us be diligent in our devotion, fervent in prayer, and passionate in spreading the Gospel. In 2 Peter 3:12, we are exhorted, “Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God.” Our hearts should be ablaze with a sense of urgency to fulfill the Great Commission and to live holy and righteous lives. May we be found faithful and ready when the Bridegroom comes for His beloved Bride. Let our anticipation of His return shape every aspect of our lives, as we long for the day when we shall see Him face to face and be forever with the Lord.
