God delivered the Israelites from slavery in Egypt and showed His power over the Egyptian gods through miraculous signs and wonders.
The Exodus and Deliverance:
The Exodus refers to the departure of the Israelites from Egypt under the leadership of Moses. Through a series of plagues and the institution of the Passover, God displayed His authority and protection over His people. The parting of the Red Sea, allowing the Israelites to pass through on dry ground while the pursuing Egyptian army was destroyed, stands as a remarkable testament to God’s deliverance.
The Giving of the Law:
Following their deliverance, God led the Israelites to Mount Sinai, where He established a covenant with them. It was on Mount Sinai that God gave Moses the Ten Commandments and the Mosaic Law, which would serve as a moral and legal foundation for Israel’s relationship with God and with one another.
