As we embark on Chapter 16 of Journey Through the Scriptures, we arrive at the study of the Antichrist and the Great Tribulation. In this chapter, we will explore passages from the books of Daniel, 2 Thessalonians, and Revelation. These Scriptures offer us valuable insights into the rise of the Antichrist, the challenges faced during the Great Tribulation, and the unwavering perseverance of the saints.

The book of Daniel, specifically chapters 7-12, provides a prophetic panorama that reveals the rise and activities of the Antichrist. In these passages, we witness the visions and dreams given to Daniel, unveiling the emergence of a powerful and deceitful ruler who will exalt himself above all that is called God. The Antichrist will deceive many and seek to persecute the people of God. However, the book of Daniel assures us that in the end, the sovereignty of the Most High God will prevail, and the Antichrist’s reign will come to an end.

In 2 Thessalonians 2, the Apostle Paul addresses the concerns of the Thessalonian believers regarding the coming of the Lord and the day of Christ. Paul warns them not to be easily deceived by false teachings or misconceptions about the timing of the end times. He emphasizes that before the return of Christ, there will be a great falling away and the revealing of the man of sin, the Antichrist. The Apostle encourages the Thessalonians to stand firm in the truth and to hold fast to the teachings they have received.

The book of Revelation, the final book of the Bible, unveils the events of the Great Tribulation, a period of intense hardship and persecution that will come upon the earth. In this time of unprecedented trial, the Antichrist will exert his authority, seeking to deceive and subjugate humanity. However, the book of Revelation assures us that the saints of God will endure and overcome by the blood of the Lamb and the word of their testimony. The challenges of the Great Tribulation will test the faith and resilience of believers, but their perseverance will be rewarded as Christ’s victory is ultimately revealed.

As you study the Antichrist and the Great Tribulation, you should approach these teachings with a spirit of discernment and a heart rooted in God’s truth. While the emergence of the Antichrist and the challenges of the Great Tribulation may cause concern, we are reminded of God’s promise to sustain and protect His faithful ones. As the Apostle John writes in Revelation 12:11, “And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.”

In our next chapter, we will delve into the glorious topic of the Second Coming of Christ. We will explore Revelation 19, which unveils the majestic return of Jesus Christ, the defeat of the Antichrist, and the establishment of His eternal kingdom. As we anticipate and prepare for the triumphant return of our Lord and Savior let’s find hope, comfort, and motivation to live faithfully in these end times.
